The pump seal gets damaged frequently – are there any good solutions? Changing the format works too

I have encountered similar situations before; you can start by checking these aspects: First, verify the operating parameters to see if the pump’s pressure and temperature exceed the design limits of the seal, and also check whether there are any particulate impurities in the fluid, as such impurities can easily damage the sealing surfaces ; Then check the alignment of the pump shaft; if the radial runout is excessive, it will also accelerate the wear of the mechanical seal ; If a single-face mechanical seal is currently in use, considering switching to a double-face mechanical seal with flushing could improve the sealing environment. If you’re not sure about the exact reason, it’s best to invite a professional pump repair technician or a manufacturer of seal components to come and take a look; after all, both the selection of the pump and the details of its installation have a significant impact on its service life~
If the original service life is very long, but it becomes shorter after the seal is damaged and replaced. This phenomenon is mostly caused by damage to the contact surface between the shaft and the mechanical seal. The proper solution is to use fine sandpaper to polish the damaged shaft surface, thereby ensuring a smooth finish, especially when the damage is relatively minor. If the damage is severe, it should be rewelded, turned and polished, before the mechanical seal can be installed. The precision of the contact surface between the shaft and the mechanical seal must be restored to its original state; otherwise, the service life will be extremely short. Looking at the picture, there is a plug, but are no pipes connected? Or isn’t any flushing scheme connected at all?
