The plot seems interesting; I’ll give it a watch if I get the chance. This series depicts in a legendary manner the life of Sima Yi (played by Wu Xiubo), showing an epic era of heroes from the post-Trojan Dynasty period. The young Sima Yi was originally a timid and cautious scholar; yet due to his appearance, which resembled that of an eagle or a wolf, he glanced back at Cao Cao (played by Yu Hewei), and from that moment on, an indissoluble bond was formed between him and the Cao family. He was forced by Cao Cao to take up an official position, thus stepping into the turbulent power struggles within Cao’s family. He used his stratagems to help Cao Pi (played by Li Chen) pass Cao Cao’s tests time and again, securing Cao Pi’s position as the heir apparent. He dedicated himself wholeheartedly to assisting Cao Pi in becoming a wise ruler who founded a new dynasty; he introduced new policies, supported the scholar-gentry class, and restrained the power of the imperial family, making significant contributions to the stability and prosperity of the Wei state. He came to know and cherish Zhuge Liang (played by Wang Luoyong) through their encounters and struggles on six expeditions to Qishan. As the autumn wind blew over Wuzhangyuan and the song of Liangfu was sung, he finally defeated his most formidable opponent in his life, yet he cried bitterly in front of that elusive chessboard. In his later years, when the ruler of Wei was young and incompetent, he quietly built up his strength, endured humiliation, and eventually succeeded in bringing an end to the internal strife in Wei. Throughout his life, he achieved great feats in protecting the country and its people, but he was also involved in cruel and ruthless schemes. His merits and demerits were both remarkable; his wisdom was unmatched, and he laid the foundation for putting an end to the era of chaos.

Anyway, I’m really looking forward to when the second season will be released; Chinese TV dramas do have some great works
