Recently, the environmental impact assessment report for the integrated construction project of Dongyu New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. in the Zhundong Development Zone of Xinjiang, which aims to produce 100,000 tons of lithium battery anode materials per year, was approved by the regional ecological and environmental authorities. This project is the first in the development zone to produce lithium battery anode materials, and it holds great significance for increasing the production capacity of such materials, expanding the scope of development for this industry, and promoting regional economic growth. During the approval process for the project’s environmental impact assessment, the Environmental Protection Bureau of Zhundong Development Zone assigned dedicated personnel to provide full-time support, maintained multiple communications with higher-level environmental protection authorities, and actively coordinated to resolve various issues that arose during this process. With the strong support of the ecological and environmental departments at the autonomous region and prefecture levels, the project was successfully approved. It is understood that the project is located in the southern part of the Wucaiwan Industrial Park in the development zone, and it is planned to build a production line capable of manufacturing 100,000 tons per year of high-end lithium-ion battery graphite anode materials. The total investment required is 3,481,470,000 yuan, of which 31,060,000 yuan is allocated to environmental protection measures. The project employs advanced pollution control technologies, and strict emission standards are adhered to during operation. Emissions of air pollutants are controlled in accordance with the specific limit values set in the industry standards, while production and domestic wastewater is treated before being reused in production processes, thereby achieving zero wastewater discharge.
