Replies will be rewarded – discussions are welcome. ------------------------------------------- On the morning of June 16, 2013, after nearly a year of construction, the xylene tower, a key component of Sinopec Hainan Refining & Chemical’s 600,000 tons per year polyester raw material production facility – which was once hailed as the \"world’s tallest tower\" – was successfully completed at the construction site. This facility was built by Ningbo Engineering Company. This tower was the largest industrial facility of its kind in the country at that time; its total weight for manufacturing and assembly was 4,035 tons, and its height was 126.6 meters. The diameter of the cylinder sections was 9.8 meters, 10.6 meters, and 11.8 meters respectively, while the maximum wall thickness of the structure was 138 millimeters. Its enormous size, thick walls, and heavy weight once again set new records for manufacturing and construction of similar facilities in the country.
