Replies will be rewarded – discussions are welcome. ------------------------------------------- In February 2019, the 514-ton Mingshengda ammonia synthesis tower, designed and manufactured by Harbin Boiler Factory Co., Ltd. under Harbin Electric Group, was successfully produced and shipped, with its weight setting a new record in Harbin Electric Boiler’s history. This ammonia synthesis tower is 32.17 meters in length, with a cylinder wall thickness of 177 millimeters; it will be used in the Mingshengda 4060 project of Shandong Jinmei Mingshui Chemical Group Co., Ltd. Over an 8-month period, Harbin Electric Boilers overcame the challenges posed by the high difficulty of rounding the cylinder of the ammonia synthesis tower, the large number of cylinder sections, and the heavy weight of these components – challenges that affected production, transportation, and organization. This enabled the successful completion of various key tasks, including successful first-time inspection of the circumferential welds despite the large amount of welding work involved, successful first-time acceptance of the assembly of ultra-thick cylinder sections and heavy accessories, and successful passing of the hydraulic pressure test after the installation and tightening of the oversized bolts.
The ammonia synthesis tower features a high difficulty level in straightening its cylinder, numerous cylinder sections, and a large weight, which poses challenges to production, transportation, and organization. These factors ensured the successful completion of various key tasks, including successful first-time inspection of circumferential welds despite the huge amount of welding work, successful first-time acceptance of the assembly of ultra-thick cylinder sections and heavy attachments, and successful passing of hydrostatic pressure tests after the installation and tightening of ultra-large bolts.
