Anhui Jinmei Zhongneng’s 600,000-ton synthetic ammonia project is about to be completed and put into operation \Update date: 2024-12-03. The energy-saving technical renovation project aimed at adjusting the raw material process for Anhui Jinmei Zhongneng Chemical’s 600,000-ton/year synthetic ammonia production is now in the final stages before the project goes into operation. Since work began in March 2024, the project team has focused on all construction tasks and accelerated the installation of large-scale equipment; it has completed the installation of eight large pieces of equipment, including the gasification furnace of the gasification unit, the coal powder feed tank, and the high-pressure CO2 buffer tank, as well as multiple sets of various other equipment. In July, all the lifting tasks for the project’s large-scale equipment were completed with high quality. To date, the construction tasks in various units of the project have been largely completed. The ammonia synthesis unit was put into operation in September, while the gasification unit has entered the stages of purging, pressure testing, and commissioning, with the finalization work progressing in an orderly manner. The energy-saving technical transformation project for adjusting the raw material route of Anhui Jinmei Zhongneng Chemical’s 600,000 tons/year ammonia synthesis plant is a follow-up project for the second phase. Located in Linquan County, Fuyang City, Anhui Province, the project has a total planned investment of 1.18 billion yuan; it involves the construction of an ammonia synthesis system with a capacity of 300,000 tons per year, with a construction period of 18 months. The company was responsible for the desulfurization and decarbonization processes, liquid nitrogen washing, compression, ammonia synthesis, gasification units, as well as some of the utility systems, large-scale lifting and installation work, and the associated electrical and instrumentation installation tasks for this project.
