The 60,000-ton α-olefins plant of CNPC completed its commissioning on November 30; the C4 complex at Sinopec Jihua’s organic synthesis plant was also successfully commissioned on that day. The plant’s C4 complex consists of a 200,000-ton/year butadiene unit, a 120,000-ton/year MTBE unit, and a 60,000-ton/year 1-butene unit. These three units serve as key components in the company’s C4 production chain, playing an important role in linking different stages of the production process. The successful completion of this device has laid a solid foundation for the company to streamline the entire process for its transformation and upgrading projects. Once the C4 integrated plant is put into operation, the total production capacity of the plant’s new and existing butadiene plants will reach 340,000 tons per year, reaching an advanced level in China.
The Refining and Chemical Transformation and Upgrading Project of Jilin Petrochemical Company is located in the Jilin Chemical Industry Circular Economy Demonstration Park in Jilin City. The eastern area houses the new district, the refinery, and the high-carbon alcohol plant; the central area features the organic synthesis plant, the calcium carbide plant, the dye plant, and the fine chemicals plant; while the western area includes the acrylonitrile plant, the fertilizer plant, and the synthetic resin plant. The chemical processing section will feature a new ethylene plant with an annual production capacity of 1.2 million tons. Downstream, facilities will be built for the hydrogenation of cracked gasoline at 1 million tons per year, a combined aromatics extraction plant at 450,000 tons per year, a high-density polyethylene plant at 400,000 tons per year, an ethylene oxide plant at 300,000 tons per year, an EVA plant at 400,000 tons per year, a phenol propionate plant at 350,000 tons per year, a bisphenol A plant at 240,000 tons per year, an EPDM plant at 40,000 tons per year, an MTBE/1-butene plant with capacities of 120,000/60,000 tons per year, a styrene plant at 600,000 tons per year, an acrylonitrile plant at 260,000 tons per year, an ABS plant at 600,000 tons per year, a solvent deasphalting plant at 800,000 tons per year, an asphalt gasification plant with a capacity of 160,000 tons per year, a butadiene rubber plant at 50,000 tons per year, a butadiene extraction plant at 200,000 tons per year, and an acetonitrile plant at 8,000 tons per year. The Jilin Petrochemical Refining and Chemical Transformation Project is a strategic measure aimed at promoting the high-quality development of China National Petroleum Corporation’s refining and chemical operations, as well as achieving a strategic optimization of the refining and chemical industry’s layout in the Northeast region; it holds great significance and has far-reaching implications.
