On October 17, Sichuan Tianhua Chemical Group Co., Ltd. released the first public announcement regarding the preparation of the environmental impact assessment report for Tianhua’s pilot project for the production of thousand-ton-scale FTO-derived energy chemicals. Project Overview: Project Name: Pilot Project for the Production of 1,000-Ton Annual Capacity of FTO-Synthesized Energy Chemicals. Nature of the project: New construction. Location: Within the Tianhua Group’s factory complex in the Lingang Industrial Park, Hejiang County, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province. Contractor: Sichuan Tianhua Chemical Group Co., Ltd. Scope of the project: This project involves the construction of a pilot plant capable of producing 1,000 tons per year of energy chemicals synthesized via FTO process. The advanced one-step FTO synthesis technology will be used, with carbon monoxide and hydrogen as raw materials, to produce high-value energy chemicals such as α-olefins and aviation kerosene. Engineering investment: The total investment amounts to 49.42 million yuan. Status of existing projects and environmental protection: The company’s current projects have all the necessary environmental protection permits in place; all pollutants are discharged within specified limits, and solid waste is collected, temporarily stored, and properly disposed of. On July 8, 2025, Shanghai Lanze Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Lanze Energy”) signed a project cooperation agreement with the People’s Government of Hejiang County, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province. Lanze Energy’s 100,000 tons per year industrial demonstration project for producing green aviation fuel from biomass was officially launched in Hejiang County. The project will utilize the Fischer-Tropsch aviation fuel distillate technology independently developed by Lanze Energy. Taking the implementation of this project as an opportunity, Lanze Energy is working together with the Sichuan Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Sichuan Tianhua Chemical Group Co., Ltd. to actively establish a research and development center for the green and high-value utilization of natural gas and biomass. At the same time, a pilot R&D base has been established in partnership with Sichuan Tianhua Chemical Group Co., Ltd., focusing on the technical development and engineering demonstration of energy chemicals produced through the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis route. By establishing close ties with research institutions and local enterprises, an innovative ecosystem encompassing \"key technology research and development—pilot-scale engineering validation—industrialization and demonstration\" is being created to accelerate the innovation and application of green energy technologies.
