Launch of the Green Hydrogen Energy and Liquid Sun Methanol Pilot Project in Qujing, Yunnan

The launch ceremony for the Yunnan Green Hydrogen Energy and Liquid Sun Methanol demonstration project was held on December 9th in Qujing, where an event was also organized to present the research findings. 　　It is reported that Qujing is working together with Liupanshui in Guizhou Province to establish an important hydrogen energy application demonstration base in the southwest region. Efforts are being made to develop hydrogen produced as a by-product of industrial processes as well as hydrogen generated from renewable energy sources, with the aim of promoting the commercial use of hydrogen in various fields and advancing the entire chain of hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization. This project utilizes modified inorganic compounds to capture carbon dioxide, as well as green hydrogen to produce liquid solar methanol. It is planned to generate 15,000 tons of green hydrogen and 60,000 tons of green methanol per year. It represents the first demonstration project in China that covers the entire industrial chain for the production, storage, transportation, refueling, and utilization of green hydrogen and liquid solar methanol, and it is well aligned with the development trends of the hydrogen industry and market demands.
