On December 28, the propylene distillation tower, a large-scale equipment with a capacity of over 1,000 tons, part of Guangxi Nenghua’s integrated methanol-to-olefins and downstream processing project featuring an annual methanol-to-olefins (MTO) production capacity of 1 million tons, was ready for lifting after 25 days of work on equipping it at the project site, and was successfully lifted. The MTO unit is the key facility in the third-phase project of Huayi Qinzhou Base, and it plays a crucial role in extending and enhancing the industrial chain of the base. The successful lifting of the propylene distillation tower represents another important milestone in the Phase 3 project of Huayi Qinzhou Base. After being equipped with its necessary components, the propylene distillation tower now has a diameter of 7.8 meters and a height of 79.46 meters; its lifting weight is 1,090 tons. For lifting purposes, Sinopec’s 3,600-ton crawler crane was used as the main lifting device, while a 750-ton crawler crane was used to assist with the lifting process. After 8 hours of testing lifts, lifting attempts, the actual lifting operation, and adjustments, the equipment was successfully installed and the lights on the tower were turned on, marking significant progress in the lifting of this large-scale equipment. Guangxi Huayi Energy Chemical’s integrated methanol-to-olefins and downstream processing project includes a 1 million tons per year methanol-to-olefins plant, a 300,000 tons per year vinyl acetate plant, a 250,000 tons per year tubular EVA plant, a 100,000 tons per year batch EVA plant, as well as supporting auxiliary facilities. To the east of the project site are the high-voltage corridor and Linhai Avenue in the industrial park; to the west are the Hua Yi Phase I and Phase II projects; to the south it faces Suixi Hazardous Waste Treatment Facility and the Gas Island Tank Area across Yingpan Street; and to the north is the Chengxing Phosphorus Chemical Industry Base.
