On February 23, in the Jundong Economic and Technological Development Zone in Xinjiang (hereinafter referred to as the “Jundong Development Zone”), the Jundong Coal Chemical Integration Project of Shandong Energy Group Yankuang Xinjiang Energy Chemical Co., Ltd., a key project in the autonomous region with a total planned investment of 33.8 billion yuan, officially commenced construction. This marks significant progress in the Jundong Development Zone’s efforts to develop a modern coal chemical industry worth hundreds of billions of yuan. The Zhundong coal-to-chemicals integration project of Shandong Energy Group Yankuang Xinjiang Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. includes an 800,000-ton/year coal-to-olefins project, as well as the first-phase construction of Open Pit Mine No. 4 in the Zhundong Wucaiwan mining area, a dedicated railway line for the coal-to-chemicals integration process, and a residential complex in the new town of Zhundong Wucaiwan. The 800,000 tons per year coal-to-olefins project is located on the west side of Shenqi Road, at the entrance of Open-pit No. 4 in Wucaiwan, Huoshaoshan Industrial Park, Jundong Development Zone, covering an area of 4,052 mu. The project uses coal from the Wucailan No. 4 open-pit mine as raw material, and employs the 3,000 tons/day OMB (multi-nozzle opposed) new type of semi-waste boiler coal gasification technology owned by Shandong Energy Group, along with advanced domestic and international processes and technologies such as MTO (methanol to olefins). Upon completion of the project, various production indicators will be at the leading level in the industry. The first-phase project of Open Pit No. 4 in the Wucaiwan mining area in Zhundong covers an area of 96.88 square kilometers. The designed recoverable amount of raw coal is 2.958 billion tons, with an annual production capacity of 23 million tons per year, and a designed service life of 128.6 years. The Shandong Energy Yankuang Xinjiang Energy Chemicals Zhundong Coal Chemical Integration Railway Dedicated Line project is a dedicated transportation railway supporting the No. 4 open-pit coal mine and the 800,000 tons per year coal-to-olefins project; it is designed as a single-track railway. The line connects to the Zhundong Station of the Wujiang Railway and leads to the newly built Shanneng Chemical Industry Station. It is 24.37 kilometers long, with a designed speed of 80 kilometers per hour and a designed transport capacity of 35 million tons per year. The Zhundong Coal Chemical Integration Living Center project of Shandong Energy Yankuang Xinjiang Energy Chemical, has a total construction area of 146,100 square meters. Upon completion, it will be able to accommodate 5,000 employees, and is equipped with complete supporting facilities such as a restaurant/training center, a cultural and sports center, and equipment rooms.
