On the morning of March 15, the groundbreaking ceremony for Ningxia Shengze Energy Technology Co., Ltd.’s project for the deep processing of natural gas on a scale of 750,000 tons per year, with the production of fine chemical products as a by-product, was held in a grand manner. The 750,000 tons per year natural gas deep processing project coupled with the production of fine chemical products by Ningxia Shengze Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is located in the Gao Shawo area (East Zone) of the Yanchi Industrial Park in Ningxia, covering a total area of 690 mu. With a total investment of 5.787 billion yuan, it will be constructed in two phases. It is designed to handle 400,000 cubic meters of natural gas per day, with an annual consumption of 120 million cubic meters. The initial investment amounts to 1.568 billion yuan, intended for the construction of a facility capable of producing 150,000 tons per year of isobutane dehydrogenation products and 235,000 tons per year of MTBE. Construction will begin in mid-March, with the facility set to be completed and put into operation by December 2026. The second phase of investment amounts to 4.218 billion yuan, and it will involve the construction of facilities capable of producing 150,000 tons per year of syngas from natural gas, 300,000 tons of butyl octanol, 200,000 tons of formaldehyde, 80,000 tons of neopentyl glycol, 50,000 tons of trimethylolpropane, and 200,000 tons of 1-butene, along with associated auxiliary facilities. Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2026, with completion and operation set for December 2027. Phase 1: Methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) is a versatile chemical whose main uses include serving as an additive in high-octane gasoline and as an anti-knock agent. It is favored for its good miscibility with gasoline, low water absorption, and environmental friendliness. The addition of MTBE can improve the cold-start properties, acceleration performance, and octane distribution of gasoline, thereby enhancing its combustion efficiency and performance. Furthermore, MTBE can also be cracked to produce isobutylene, which is used in the manufacture of other chemicals and plays an important role in medical and scientific laboratories. In order to make full use of the resource advantages of the Qingshimao gas field in Yanchi County, Ningxia, Ningxia Shengze Energy Technology Co., Ltd. plans to launch the \"Phase I Project of the 750,000 tons/year natural gas deep processing coupled with fine chemical products project\" (hereinafter referred to as \"this project\") in the Gao Shawo area (East Zone) of the Yanchi Industrial Park in Ningxia. This project will construct a combined facility that covers the entire process from raw material preprocessing to MTBE production, aiming to achieve deep processing and efficient utilization of resources. The first phase of Ningxia Shengze Energy Technology Co., Ltd.’s project for the deep processing of 750,000 tons per year of natural gas to produce fine chemical products represents a carefully planned and long-term strategic initiative by Shengze Energy. It also serves as a new driving force for upgrading the energy industry structure in Yanchi. The completion of this project will have a profound impact on promoting high-quality economic development in the region and contributing to the achievement of the \"dual carbon\" goals.
