On April 22, the first tower unit of the 500,000 tons per year methanol-to-ethanol project owned by Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Yulin Kaiyue Coal Chemical Co., Ltd., which was EPC-general contracted by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., was successfully lifted into place – the degreasing tower. The degreasing tower is one of the core equipment in this project, with technical parameters and process requirements that are at the leading level in the industry. The tower has a diameter of 4.8 meters, a total height of 59.5 meters, and a weight of 195 tons; it is one of the five oversized towers that are crucial in the construction of the ethanol plant. As a crucial component in the methanol-to-ethanol production process, this equipment utilizes advanced design concepts and manufacturing techniques to efficiently remove ester impurities, thereby significantly improving the purity of the methanol product and ensuring high-quality raw materials for the subsequent dimethyl ether production stage.
