Henan Junheng Industrial Group Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Junheng Bio”) is a pioneer in the field of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in China. Its key project aimed at producing sustainable aviation fuel from 1 million tons of waste oils per year made milestone progress in 2025; this project has been listed as a key project in Henan Province and was included in the **“List of Advanced Green and Low-Carbon Technology Demonstration Projects (Second Batch)” issued by the National Development and Reform Commission. Once the project is fully operational, the company’s annual processing capacity for SAF will increase significantly from its current level to 1 million tons, with an annual production volume of products estimated at 700,000 to 800,000 tons – which will place it among the world’s top suppliers of SAF.
As of January 2026, Junheng Biology was successfully included in the \"white list\" for biofuels, becoming the first company in Henan and the fifth in the whole country to obtain this qualification; it was also granted an approved export capacity of 240,000 tons. Meanwhile, Junheng Biology’s existing 200,000 tons per year SAF production line remained in operation without interruption throughout the Spring Festival period, and the construction of the new facility is progressing smoothly; it is expected to go into full operation in June 2026.
As of March 2026, the five reactors manufactured by Lanshi Heavy Equipment for Junheng Biology’s project aimed at producing sustainable aviation fuel from 1 million tons of waste oils per year have been completed one after another and are about to be delivered.
In April 2026, Henan Junheng Industry’s project for producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from 1 million tons of waste oils per year achieved a key milestone when the thousand-ton-scale pretreatment reactor, one of the core equipment for this project, was installed, marking a significant progress in the construction of the facility.
