**The energy group plans to build a 3-million-ton green fuel facility in Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia

On August 7, the Guoneng e-Zhao website issued the \"Bid Invitation Announcement for the Preparatory Consultation Services Project for the Wind Power-to-Hydrogen and Ammonia Integration Project of Guohua Investment Guohua Bayannur (Wulat Middle Banner) Wind Power Co., Ltd.\" The announcement states that Bayannur City in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region boasts unique resource conditions, with the equivalent utilization hours for wind power reaching over 3,600 hours. The group company has operational projects in this region in the areas of railways, chemicals, new energy, and water treatment; the railways enable it to take advantage of synergistic development opportunities with the port industries in Hebei and Shandong provinces. Based on this, 10 million kilowatts of new energy and 3 million tons of green fuel (raw material) are to be developed in Bayannur. The planning and construction of the base project are carried out in accordance with the principle of \"planning in phases and implementing step by step\". One of the pilot projects is the integrated wind power-hydrogen-ammonia production project in Wulat Middle Banner, which involves the construction of 3.4 million kilowatts of wind power capacity, along with an electrochemical energy storage system of a certain proportion. It also includes the establishment of hydrogen production facilities via water electrolysis and synthetic ammonia production plants with an annual output of millions of tons. The project will establish a base in Bayannur City for the local conversion of low-cost renewable energy into green fuel (raw material), and by leveraging the group’s internal railway and port infrastructure, it will work together with other units within the group to create low-cost transportation networks as well as distribution and trading centers. The scope of this tender is for preliminary consulting services for the project. The services include, among others: preparing a comprehensive pre-feasibility study report, a report on model comparison, an application for wind power approval, an application for energy storage registration, a pre-feasibility study report for new energy projects, and a pre-feasibility study report for hydrogen and ammonia projects. As one of the state-owned enterprises in China that was among the first to develop strategies for the hydrogen energy industry, **Energy Group has identified hydrogen energy as a key focus within its strategic emerging industries and future-oriented industries, working to accelerate the establishment of a \"green hydrogen energy industry chain\" as well as a \"hydrogen energy innovation service chain\". In terms of green hydrogen projects, **the Energy Group has at least 19 green hydrogen, ammonia, and alcohol-related projects under active development, including the Ningdong Renewable Hydrogen Carbon Emission Reduction Demonstration Project, the Guohua Cangzhou 100,000-ton green ammonia project, and the world-class green hydrogen innovation hub “Hydrogen Island” project. In February this year, with the successful simultaneous operation of 5 electrolyzers in two series at the Qingshuiying hydrogen production plant, which is part of the first phase of the Ningdong Renewable Hydrogen Carbon Emission Reduction Demonstration Zone project, the hydrogen industry of the Energy Group has been able to operate safely, stably and continuously for 8 months, with the cumulative production of green hydrogen exceeding 5 million standard cubic meters.
