Recently, in the Serni District of Nagqu City, Tibet Autonomous Region, where the average altitude is over 4,500 meters, the clean energy centralized heating project in this area, constructed by China Chemical Engineering Ecology Company, made significant progress: the first core facility, Energy Station No. 1, was officially connected to the grid and put into operation, successfully generating and delivering the first batch of clean heat energy. This marks a substantial breakthrough in this project aimed at improving people’s livelihoods and winning public support, and it represents a solid step forward in finding solutions to the problem of heating for residents in high-altitude areas during winter. Naqu City has a long and cold winter, with an average annual temperature below zero degrees. Traditional coal-based heating methods not only fail to meet people’s needs for a warm winter, but also place certain strain on the ecological environment in high-altitude areas. As one of the first seven clean energy pilot projects in the Tibet Autonomous Region, the Nagqu clean energy centralized heating project carries the dual mission of improving people’s livelihoods and protecting the environment. The project makes use of the abundant geothermal energy resources in the plateau area; it extracts heat rather than water, thereby creating a safe, stable, efficient, and environmentally friendly centralized heating system that fundamentally improves the heating conditions in Naqu City, particularly in the core area of Seni District. With the successful connection of Energy Station No. 1 to the grid, heating powered by clean energy has been put into operation. The energy station will gradually supply a steady and continuous heat source to areas such as the Tacharam community, thereby significantly improving the heating efficiency and bringing \"warmth from central state-owned enterprises and green warmth\" to this snowy plateau. In the future, China National Chemical Engineering will make every effort to advance the subsequent construction work, ensuring that more residents of Naqu can enjoy the convenience and warmth provided by clean energy heating at an early date. By taking practical actions, it will fulfill its original mission as a central state-owned enterprise, and contribute even more to the ecological civilization development of the Tibet Autonomous Region as well as to the achievement of the \"dual carbon\" goals.
