Projects in the downstream petrochemical industry and related value chains: Owner – Shandong Yulong Petrochemical Co., Ltd.; Location of construction – Yantai, Shandong; Investment amount – 117.857 billion yuan. Project progress: Engineering design phase. Project overview: Leveraging the raw material advantages provided by the Yulong Island integrated refining and chemical complex (Phase I), which has a capacity of 20 million tons per year for oil refining, 3 million tons per year for ethylene production, and 3 million tons per year for PX production, this project aims to develop more than 50 types of high-value-added new materials such as POE elastomers, nylon 66, and carbon fiber precursors. It seeks to create a closed-loop industrial chain that spans from crude oil to olefins, aromatics, and advanced new materials, thereby achieving a revolutionary leap from basic chemical raw materials to high-end end products. The project involves the construction of 56 sets of production units, along with complete utility systems, auxiliary facilities, and storage and transportation systems. This results in the formation of five major core industrial chain clusters, increasing the added value of chemical products by over 80%. Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2026, with the groundwork for the first batch of facilities (POE, nylon 66, acrylonitrile) getting underway. Expected commissioning date: August 2029, when the project will be fully completed and put into operation
