Under the supervision of the client and ship inspectors from the China Classification Society, the product passed its factory tests successfully. This marks the official launch of the second-generation PCHE products independently developed by Institute 725, representing another solid step forward in the development of the PCHE industry at this institute.
With the goal of creating \"high-quality projects\", 725 established Party member vanguard teams, fully leveraging the spirit of these teams in terms of their willingness to innovate and break through barriers, as well as their readiness to take on challenging tasks. Under the dual pressures of project deadlines and the COVID-19 pandemic, the Party member vanguard team worked against the odds, staying at the forefront of scientific research and production. The project team overcame numerous difficulties, and through nearly two months of continuous effort, it successfully resolved a series of major technical challenges related to the design of mixed-type heat exchangers, the processing of fins, the assembly of the core components, and the diffusion welding of these components. Ultimately, the project team from the Eighth Research Laboratory successfully developed the first large-scale hybrid heat exchanger, thus fulfilling the development task. It is reported that this product is another outstanding achievement created jointly by the 725 Institute and Hefei General Machinery Research Institute Co., Ltd.; it is also the hybrid heat exchanger with the largest specifications in the world at present. Building on the first generation of PCHE, this product improves the manufacturing process of its heat exchange core elements to achieve high efficiency and low resistance. It also overcomes the limitation imposed by the first generation of PCHE products regarding the cleanliness of the heat exchange medium, thereby allowing for a wider range of applications. All along, the 725 Institute has taken high-quality development as its guiding principle and the creation of a long-term brand as its goal, continuously innovating and making breakthroughs in the PCHE products it develops. Unit 725 has delivered over 40 sets of products to markets such as high-efficiency thermal power generation, fourth-generation nuclear power, hydrogen energy, and offshore engineering, maintaining the leading position in China in terms of the number of such deliveries. Unit 725 continues to advance the industrial deployment of this product across the country and around the world, thereby maintaining its leading position in the PCHE sector.
