On April 23, the Huizhou Ecology and Environment Bureau issued a public notice regarding the acceptance status of a construction project (the expansion project for Huizhou Zhongxin Chemical’s 450,000-ton phenol acetone facility). According to the project impact report, the basic details of the project are as follows: Project name: Expansion project for the 450,000-ton phenol acetone device at Huizhou Zhongxin Chemicals ； Construction unit: Huizhou Zhongxin Chemical Co., Ltd ； Nature of construction: Expansion project ； Total investment: Approximately 20 million yuan ； Expansion details: The capacity expansion project builds upon the existing 450,000-ton phenol and acetone production facility. Its aim is to eliminate bottlenecks hindering the stable operation of all units at high loads, while also increasing overall production capacity. The annual output of cumene is set to rise from 380,000 tons to 577,000 tons, while the capacity of the phenol and acetone plant will increase from 450,000 tons per year to 687,000 tons per year.
