In 2026, during the 25th National \"Safety Production Month\", everyone is called upon to prioritize safety and know how to respond to emergencies; risks and potential hazards must be identified and addressed. On June 24th, the first key tower unit of the Xinjiang polyoxymethylene project operated by Ningbo Company, which is part of China Chemical Caiding, was successfully hoisted into place – specifically, the T-2305 benzene recovery tower. This successful completion of this critical lifting task marks the official entry of the project into the phase of installing large-scale equipment on a large scale. This lifting operation constitutes a high-risk construction task, with complex on-site conditions and extremely high technical challenges. The working area in the project’s equipment zone is very cramped; there is extremely limited space for positioning two machines and for crane rotation. At the same time, the lifting equipment in this project is of considerable size; after completing tasks such as insulating the tower and installing pipelines attached to it, the total weight of the equipment to be lifted amounts to 92 tons, and its total height is 48.2 meters. This poses extremely high demands on the planning of the lifting strategy, the positioning of the machinery, and the coordinated operation of the personnel involved. To ensure the safe, high-quality, and efficient progress of the lifting operations, the project team planned in advance and made comprehensive arrangements, detailing various tasks such as the delivery of large-scale equipment, preliminary prefabrication, and preparations for lifting. The main body of the T-2305 benzene recovery tower was successfully delivered to the site on June 13; the following day, the pipelines attached to the tower as well as the accompanying materials were also delivered, creating favorable conditions for subsequent concentrated construction work. Upon the arrival of the equipment, the project’s technical, safety, and construction teams worked tirelessly for ten days to complete all the preliminary preparations, including the inspection of the equipment upon arrival, insulation of the tower structure, and repeated simulations of operations with two cranes. In response to the challenges posed by the limited space and restricted movement capabilities at the construction site, the project team developed an optimized construction plan. They decided to use a XCA 700-ton truck crane as the main crane, along with a XCA 200L8 truck crane as an auxiliary crane, to carry out the lifting operations. The operational radius, rated load, and positioning of the cranes were carefully calculated, allowing many tasks that would normally require work at heights to be completed on the ground. This approach helped to eliminate safety risks associated with working at heights and effectively reduced the time required for concurrent operations at the site. During the lifting operation, the operators of the two large cranes worked in close coordination under unified command, ensuring that the load was under control throughout and that the structure remained stable, thus enabling the precise installation of the tower to be completed successfully. The successful lifting of the first core tower unit marks a crucial step in the effort to install the large-scale equipment for this project. Next, the project team will take this key milestone as an opportunity to comprehensively summarize construction experience, continue to uphold strict standards for safety and quality control, coordinate the lifting plans for subsequent large-scale towers and mechanical equipment, and efficiently advance tasks such as equipment installation, pipeline prefabrication, and electrical and instrumentation installations. By making every effort to meet construction deadlines and achieve the goals set for each stage, the team aims to contribute to the company’s high-quality development through efficient and effective construction efforts.
