Can the LNG unloading pipeline be buried, since it transfers LNG into tanks across a road? Thank you!
It is no longer allowed to bury pipelines carrying hazardous materials underground; they must be installed in corridors. You can ask the relevant design institutes about this
Not allowed (**provision). To cross the road, one has to use the utility tunnel. On the other hand, buried low-temperature pipelines are prone to corrosion and can damage road surfaces, so their use is generally not permitted.
Although it is not explicitly specified, it is not allowed to use pipe trenches; using such trenches would expose the pipelines to rainwater. Once the external insulation of the LNG pipelines gets soaked by rainwater, their insulating capacity will be compromised, and the consequences are obvious.
It has a moisture-proof layer for insulation, so water can’t get inside; this is different from regular insulation. I don’t think using ducts is a good idea either, though I have indeed seen cases where ducts were used.
Just because there is a moisture barrier doesn’t mean that the pipelines can be left submerged in water all day long; intrinsic safety must be considered from the most fundamental level. For example, just because you’re wearing sportswear and sports shoes, and are quick to react and agile in your movements, it doesn’t mean you can cross the road.
Walking in a trench does not mean it is filled with water; trenches are equipped with drainage pits, and water accumulation is not allowed in them. For example, if you’re not wearing sportswear or sports shoes, and your reactions are slow and your movements are sluggish, that doesn’t mean you can’t cross the road; you can use the sidewalk where the light is green. :lol
During the normal installation of LNG pipelines, the road surface arches. In a project I worked on before, since it was an internal factory road, steel plates were used to address the arching of the road surface
