You’ve misunderstood; it’s not a mechanical seal for the pump.
The medium-side seal of the magnetic pump is a static seal, while the bearing housing side is equipped with a mechanical oil seal; our factory has replaced this with a small threaded groove on the gland.
A magnetic mechanical seal separates the inside and outside of the container with steel plates, and the rotation of the stirring shaft is driven by magnetism between the inner and outer discs.
I’ve never come across it. The purpose of sealing is to prevent leaks; so, the so-called magnetic sealing must involve the use of a seal ring to isolate the medium, with no moving seal elements – that’s probably the principle behind leak-free magnetic pumps, in my opinion.
