I’ve reviewed a lot of information and collection of fault cases. Now I’m dealing with a Siemens positioner that shows a \"noini\" error; it’s not possible to switch between manual and automatic mode, and when trying to enter the 4-self-tuning mode, it gets stuck at stage run2. Adjusting the zero-point setting to 6-9 allows the system to function, but as for the up1 range setting, no matter how much I adjust it, it won’t reach 90-95 – it gets stuck at that point and won’t move forward. Please help, experts!
If it’s possible to skip the run2 step by performing manual tuning, I tried doing that manually this weekend
Angles of 33 and 90 have both been tried, the p51 setting has also been restored – are there any other solutions?
Is it a double-acting valve? Check the locator throttle orifice and the air path entering the cylinder
There’s no problem with the air supply; the first attempt went smoothly, so the air supply must be fine. The issue is related to what was mentioned regarding run2 – I’ve tried rotating the pulley back and forth several times, but I still can’t get it to reach 90_95; it just won’t work
Has the valve been moved at all? Including valve stem connections and such
No, the valve is fine; air is being used to push the cylinder directly. It’s just that the positioner suddenly stops working, triggering a noini alarm, and the process gets stuck at stage up1, unable to proceed further
May I ask, for the self-tuning of Siemens positioners, the 12mA signal that needs to be applied – does this refer to the input signal itself or is it necessary for the valve to be at 50% position? I am currently supplying 12mA directly from my DCS or signal generator, but the valve does not move. Will this affect my ability to complete the Run2 procedure?
Siemens tuning does not require a 12mA signal. . Just power it on.
Showing “noini” means it has not been initialized! Manual and automatic button presses are ineffective; drive the valve from closed to open, and check whether the positioner is within the 5%-95% range! Finally, drive the valve to around 50; keep the feedback rod horizontal, adjust the positioner using the wave wheel to 50, and then perform a self-check!
Being stuck at run2 means that you didn’t adjust the zero point and range properly before initialization
