For steam pipes, units with sufficient funds generally carry out acid washing and passivation before proceeding with purging； Some organizations carry out sandblasting before welding. Personally, I think that the effect of acid cleaning and passivation isn’t always optimal; it’s better to perform sandblasting before welding to ensure the inside of the pipes is clean, which then allows for time savings through subsequent purging.
All pipelines, regardless of the medium they carry, need to be treated after installation.
Strictly speaking, no matter what type of pipe it is, proper preparation should be carried out before welding; this way, cleaning time can be saved during purging, and the cleanliness inside the pipe can also be ensured.
