Do the shafting instruments of units such as turbines and compressors need to be calibrated before their first installation? If necessary, what are the verification criteria, and which standards are followed? What equipment is used for verification? Thank you all!
We haven’t done any verification here; generally, manufacturers do carry out such verification
The instruments for the unit’s shafting come as part of the equipment; we have not conducted any inspections on them, and they were put into use right after installation.
The installation of probes in the shafting is carried out under the manufacturer’s guidance for the first time; the manufacturer brings along a construction plan and relevant documentation
It is generally verified by the construction unit, and a curve graph can be drawn. But now it doesn’t fall under 3543 nor is it considered 3503, which is rather awkward; in the past, after performing the verification, we had no place to submit the results, so it was left unresolved. Mainly using tk3 devices along with dial indicators. The probe installation relies on feel.
In principle, verification is required, but since it is a new sensor and construction schedules are generally tight, the verification process takes a long time and the qualifications of the verification agencies are quite high; therefore, in most cases, the owner agrees to allow installation without undergoing verification
All instruments need to be calibrated; they come with the manufacturer, so you just need to ask the manufacturer for the calibration records.

I didn’t carry out verification for my previous projects either; the manufacturer would come to install and debug them. But for this project, verification is mandatory. . . It’s frustrating. . By the way, can TK3 be used with probes that measure speed and acceleration?
