We use a corrosion inhibitor in our system, with naphtha as the diluent; after mixing it, it is injected using a metering pump. However, the dosage isn’t accurate – it often doesn’t reach the required level. I would like to ask everyone: how is the dosage control for the corrosion inhibitor pump in your systems?
It’s okay; if the flow rate isn’t high, the pump can be checked for problems. A similar situation occurred before; I kept looking for faults on my end, only to find that the pump was defective~~~~
The pump fitter checked it and said there was no problem; they said it was just air inside the ring
The volatility of naphtha is too high, which results in an excessive amount of gas inside the pump; generally, demineralized water is used as a corrosion inhibitor
The injection location is at the top of the diesel distillation tower
Naphtha vaporizes too easily; when pumped, it vaporizes inside the cylinder and liquefies again under pressure, which results in an insufficient flow rate. It’s also possible that the check valves at the pump’s outlet or inlet are not properly sealed and do not close tightly.
Generally, the flow rate of these metering pumps is much higher than the rated value. If the output isn’t high enough, is it due to insufficient load?
We use deoxygenated water for dilution; we rarely use naphtha. The units in the surrounding area all use deionized water or deoxygenated water
Will using deoxygenated water affect product quality?
