Personal experience: The material of internal floating disks is usually aluminum alloy; stainless steel should be used if corrosion is a possibility. Our methanol storage tanks are equipped with nitrogen sealing and do not use internal floating roofs.
Personally, I think adding a nitrogen seal would make things much safer; it’s best to do that before putting the system into use. It’s too troublesome to try to make changes after feeding has started
