The two flanges on the hydrogenation unit that are used for airtight sealing leaked, and hydraulic wrenches were needed to fix them. The contractor said it would take two days to tighten those flanges. Has anyone used such tools before? It seems like a hassle – one has to stay with the workers throughout those 24 hours
It’s convenient to use a hydraulic wrench for tightening, as the force applied to each screw can be determined. If there are no issues with the flange surfaces, then tightening the two flanges shouldn’t take too long!
The distance between the two flanges, the time required for preliminary tasks such as installing and removing the fastening tools, normal working time, and additional costs incurred when working under deadline pressure
Select the appropriate preload based on the size of the bolt; generally, hydraulic wrenches are used to tighten bolts in three stages, with a check being done after the fourth tightening. If you’re in a hurry, you can do it in two rounds; more hydraulic cylinders can be used. Two cylinders result in a slow process, while four to eight cylinders are the best option~~~~
Two flanges. How many bolts? 24 hours is too long. Definitely not needed
Saying “two days” is a bit long. One day should be enough, including transporting the equipment to the site, connecting it to electricity, fitting the hydraulic head onto the bolts, completing the tightening process, and sending the equipment out. If the construction site is far from the factory, two days is also reasonable.
