A platform is surrounded by four DN300 pipes, each equipped with a removal flange; they are located 25 meters above the ground level and 1 meter away from the edge of the platform. Inspections are required approximately every 2 to 3 years. How to perform maintenance?

Due to a lapse on the part of the process designer, the tower equipment required its internal components to be removed. The process engineer believed that this needed to be done every 5 to 7 years, by cutting the pipes in order to proceed. It was later found that the maintenance frequency might increase, so removal flanges were added. However, the piping layout on the equipment platform has already been completed, and no consideration was given to how to remove the flanges.
