As the title suggests, I have several hundred tons of gasoline here that contains silicone; basically, after using one tank of this gasoline, the car’s fuel injector gets clogged. Tests have confirmed that the gasoline contains silicone. How should it be removed?
The silicone in the oil may have been brought in along with the defoamer. This requires finding a method to remove this silicone, as its oil solubility is quite high. Conventional hydrodesilication is not particularly cost-effective, as silicones do not form silicon compounds that are prone to deposition under hydrogenation conditions. It is recommended to first analyze the form and structure of silicon in the oil, and then remove it based on its physical or chemical properties.

Silicones in gasoline cannot be completely converted into gaseous substances after combustion. Check the information again; it might be able to adsorb the organic compounds in gasoline. So, if there are problems, adding gasoline will increase the buildup of deposits in the engine and its exhaust system. Activated carbon can absorb impurities in the air, and no silicones are added to gasoline.
Silicon compounds in gasoline can be removed by adsorption or extraction methods, with a removal rate of up to 80-90%. Treating several hundred tons on its own is not economically viable; it can be mixed in small proportions with silicon-free gasoline for use, with the silicon content in the resulting mixture kept below the allowable limit

There’s no other way: one is dilution, and the other is reprocessing. For small quantities, method one is used; other methods are more costly.
