I have a doctor friend who is an proctologist. At one gathering, I asked him why he chose such a specialty. He sighed and said that he was still deciding on his field of specialization at the time; he had dinner with some senior doctors at the hospital and asked them which departments paid well. Some said surgery, while others mentioned orthopedics. At that moment, a highly respected senior director at the hospital said: Nonsense! Ophthalmology is the most profitable! So in the end, my buddy decisively chose proctology.
