I would like to ask how to test the BOD5 of wastewater

As the title suggests, I have not performed BOD5 tests; I only know how to determine dissolved oxygen using the iodometry method. After reading HJ505-2009, there are many things I don’t understand. The dissolved oxygen level in the wastewater from our factory is very low and does not meet the specified requirements; is aeration necessary? And how to determine whether there are enough microorganisms and whether dilution or inoculation is needed? I would be grateful if an expert could give me some advice; it would be great if you could leave me a QQ address so that I can ask detailed questions. Thank you very much!
At present, the COD of the anaerobic effluent is between 200 and 300, while the COD in the secondary sedimentation tank is around 50. Which stage is BOD measured for? How to determine the dilution factor for a secondary sedimentation tank or aerobic/anaerobic systems?
Currently, the COD of our anaerobic effluent is around 200-300, while that in the secondary sedimentation tank is around 50. When testing BOD, should it be done in the aerobic tank, the secondary sedimentation tank, or the anaerobic effluent? I have no idea at all; please advise
