May I ask if the hydrogen produced by the Asahi Kasei electrolyzer can be delivered directly to users located 1500 meters away, using the pressure generated by the electrolyzer itself? Is it possible to transport the hydrogen without the need for a compressor over a distance of about 1500 meters?
No problem; the key is the user’s requirement regarding pressure. If there are no such requirements, pipes of any length will work.

Hydrogen can indeed be delivered, but the pressure remains unstable. When the automatic valve on the main hydrogen electrolysis pipeline is adjusted, the pressure available to the users who consume hydrogen fluctuates, which hinders stable production.
I want to set up a hydrogen deep-processing project here, but the location is quite far away; I plan to place the hydrogen storage tanks at the user’s site, which is 1500 meters away. Add a gas tank at the end to stabilize the pressure – that’s all. Make sure there is no liquid accumulation in the pipes during installation.
At a pressure of 800 mmH2O, it’s no problem to deliver the fluid over a distance of 2000 meters; the pipes are quite thick, so there is almost no pressure drop.

It’s 1500 meters away – is there any difference in drawing it from the cathode section of the electrolyzer or from the hydrogen treatment distribution station? Increasing investment in pipe diameter, drainage systems, and pressure stabilization tanks imposes disruptions on the safe operation of electrolysis; the pressure fluctuations caused by accumulated liquid are not worth the cost.
