Which material pipelines in the coal tar processing plant are suitable for nitrogen purging? Which material pipelines are not suitable for nitrogen purging? Why?
Nitrogen is generally used to displace flammable and explosive gases such as gas, as well as pipelines for asphalt and tar; it is often used in conjunction with steam
Light oil, triple blended oil, anthracene oil, washing oil, and phenol oil are all acceptable. Asphalt, industrial naphthalene – never mind.
Nitrogen can also be used; it’s not that it can’t, ordinary purging will work. The main concern is that it might not be cleaned thoroughly.
Here, almost all of our products are purged with nitrogen. There is no problem using nitrogen in asphalt pipelines that are heated by heat transfer oil; it is energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, and it eliminates asphalt fumes. For industrial naphthalene pipelines, it’s better to use steam; sometimes it’s not possible to clean them thoroughly and the pump won’t start.
Different manufacturers have different requirements. From my experience, either one will do. South Korea uses steam, France uses nitrogen, while Japan uses both nitrogen and steam
