During the construction of our company’s desulfurization reactor, the distribution plate and transition section were welded together; the base material used was 12Cr2Mo1 (H) forgings. The groove shape is “X” type. Preheat to 200°C before welding. Cracks appeared in the weld during the welding process. Cracking occurs while welding. Please, someone kind can help! !
This requires preheating first, then heating while welding, and also using an infrared thermometer to continuously monitor the temperature.
Addition: After welding is completed, heat preservation is also required
The preheating temperature is kept at around 150°C, with continuous heating also applied during welding. Ensure the inter-layer temperature is around 200°C. The temperature control should be fine. What is your specific construction plan?
An X-shaped groove should be relatively thick, I guess. Before welding, you said that preheating should be done, and the spot welding areas should be made longer, thicker, and more numerous. Post-weld heat treatment.
It is best to use the same material for both the forging and the substrate. .
The two forgings are made of the same material and have a thickness of 100 mm. Later, the two were remanufactured and welded together, with the preheating temperature reduced to below 100°C, and manual welding was carried out. Construction continued for several days in a row. Post-weld dehydrogenation was carried out, along with intermediate heat treatment. No more cracks appeared
