Our company’s sulfur recovery facility produces 2,000 tons of sulfur per year; it features a three-dimensional design. The exhaust pipelines of the liquid sulfur tank are kept open for exhaust emission (the gas pumps are also running, with a low amount of steam being released). Is it normal for it to operate in this way? I saw on the forums that it is said the liquid sulfur tank operates under negative pressure. May I ask the experts: is the exhaust pipe also kept open to release gas during normal operation in your company?
Increase the steam volume of the air extractor until no more steam is emitted.
When starting up the extractor, it should be operated at a higher capacity and at a faster pace; once it is functioning properly, the steam supply can be gradually reduced to save on steam usage. Try it a few times and you’ll find an appropriate steam opening; generally, no adjustment is needed.

Leave the drain line open; it allows you to determine the operating status of the air extractor. As long as the vent pipe doesn’t emit vapor, that’s fine.

My unit is indeed shut down; the exhaust pipeline is used only in emergency situations. It’s sufficient to adjust the steam valve of the extractor to an appropriate opening. If the exhaust pipeline remains open and the steam valve of the extractor is set to a too high opening, external air may enter, leading to spontaneous combustion of liquid sulfur.
