Explosion-proof industrial lighting fixtures are used in places such as petrochemical plants, gas stations, areas classified as Zone 1 and Zone 2 due to the presence of explosive gases, power plants, and port terminals. Knowing how to select explosion-proof lighting fixtures, as well as their installation, use, and maintenance, are all essential aspects for ensuring that such fixtures operate safely, reliably, and efficiently over the long term; these aspects must be given due attention. 1. The selected personnel must understand the basic working principles of explosion-proof lighting fixtures and be familiar with explosion-proof markings. 2. Select the explosion-proof category, type, grade, and temperature group of the lighting fixture accurately according to the classification of the explosive hazard area. 3. Understand the operating environmental conditions and requirements, and select explosion-proof lighting fixtures with various functions appropriately. For example, the protection rating of the housing for explosion-proof lighting fixtures used outdoors should be at least IP45 or higher. Currently, the light sources for explosion-proof lamps are mainly LED lights, metal halide lamps, sodium lamps, and metal vapor lamps. 4. Read the product instruction manual carefully to understand its performance, precautions, and limitations, as well as the meaning of the symbols used on the product. For example, if the explosion-proof certification number indicates compliance with standard X, it means that the lamp is suitable for specific application areas; it is necessary to consult the product’s instructions and label to determine the requirements for those application areas.
