Can we eliminate the flushing oil system of the centrifugal compressor and use only a water injection system?
What is the purpose of oiling a centrifuge? And what kind of centrifuge is it? Common centrifuges have a lubrication system.
Aren’t all centrifugal compressors lubricated with oil to cool down and prevent scaling?
The centrifuge uses a lubrication system to improve the lubricity of the bearings, reduce the friction coefficient, and remove the heat generated by the bearing shells, thereby extending the operational life of the entire unit. As for oil injection for cooling and to prevent scaling, my knowledge and experience in this area are limited; I don’t understand it. Please introduce the model and the conveying medium so I can learn about it.
I’ve seen cases of water injection; does oil injection depend on the medium being used, and is it for dissolution or cleaning?

Our pyrolysis gas compressor is equipped with oil injection and water injection systems. As mentioned earlier, oil injection is used to prevent hydrocarbon substances from accumulating on the impellers and within the system, thereby extending the equipment’s operational life, while water injection serves the purpose of cooling. However, avoiding water injection whenever possible will accelerate the corrosion of the equipment. Based on our extensive sampling, testing, and observations, it can be concluded that the water taken from the tanks between the compressor stages after water injection contains significantly higher levels of iron ions compared to before injection; at the same time, there is also a greater amount of organic acids present in this water. Therefore, the oil and water injected into the compressor serve different functions; in my opinion, they cannot be replaced with each other
