For the pyrolysis gas compressor, to prevent diene polymerization, the outlet temperature at each stage of the compressor is kept below 95°C. Are there any requirements regarding the outlet temperature of the ethylene compressor?
The outlet temperature of the compressor is limited by process and mechanical factors; the 95 degrees mentioned by the original poster represents a requirement imposed by the process. Mechanically, it is generally not allowed to exceed 120 degrees, so the compressor outlet temperature should preferably be below 110 degrees.
In other words, regardless of the medium being compressed, from a mechanical perspective, the temperature should not exceed 120°C?
A lower temperature is better. It shouldn’t be much, and it can reduce polymerization.
Generally, the temperature of an ethylene plant should not exceed 120 degrees, as above this temperature ethylene tends to polymerize. For media containing dienes, it is recommended that the temperature be below 90 degrees.
