I would like to ask the experts: given that the main corrosive agent is 20% fuming sulfuric acid and the reaction temperature is 210°C, is it possible to use an enamel-lined reactor?

It is best to use enamel and/or glass lining; when operating, be careful not to let the temperature rise or fall too quickly. There are options available for coating the inner surface of stainless steel with PTFE, and that would work as well; the temperature should be tolerable.

I’ve been studying API 571 recently and happened to come across the chapter on sulfuric acid corrosion. After reading the entire chapter, I still couldn’t find an answer to this question.
