For submersible pumps used to transport domestic wastewater, how is the service life of such pumps determined? What are the various conditions under which a pump needs to be replaced? Are there any relevant **standards or industry standards?
I remember it seemed to be depreciated at 3-8% per year based on the original value
Are there any expiration limits for water pumps? I’ve never paid attention to this before; generally, I just look at how it’s being used – if it seems worthwhile, I continue to use it ; The same goes for repairs; one wonders whether it’s worth fixing them or not. **I’ve never seen any regulations regarding the retirement of team water pumps; if such regulations do exist, they are likely related to efficiency and energy savings.
The design life is generally 15-20 years
Generally, the decision to replace it is based on process requirements and maintenance costs.
Private cars are no longer required to be scrapped after 15 years; as long as the exhaust gas tests pass annually, they are fine.
With modern repair technologies, as long as you don’t want to replace it, it will work fine for 20-30 years. Ordinary water pumps don’t require much technical expertise; machine shops in county towns are capable of carrying out major repairs on them.
I have only heard of the concept of design life span; I haven’t heard of a retirement date.
