How can a rupture disc ensure its effectiveness? Is it necessary to test it on a regular basis? How long can it be used before it needs to be replaced?
It should be determined according to the manufacturer’s technical documents. We replace it once a year, unless there are special circumstances.
Once the blast disc is installed, it is not tested anymore. Blowout discs are inspected randomly in batches. However, the rupture disc device does need to be inspected, though only through a visual inspection. Rupture discs have an expiration date, and they should be replaced once that date has passed.
