Generally, a circuit is present before the outlet of a reciprocating compressor, which is used to protect the equipment and control the outlet pressure. However, a return line is also added from behind the outlet valve of the reciprocating compressor to the compressor inlet. What is the purpose and advantage of this return line?
Its function is similar to that of the circuit valve mentioned earlier; the difference is that one controls the pressure of a single unit while the other controls the system flow rate. It’s a bit similar to the function of a system vent and recovery valve.
