Dear everyone: We have designed a process using two-stage desalination with a capacity of 80 tons per hour. May I ask what the makeup water volume for the first-stage reverse osmosis is approximately?
Do you mean what the level of water inlet at stage 1 is? Based on the recovery rate, your water production/output equals your water input. Generally, the recovery rate of secondary RO is around 65% to 75%, depending on the quality of the water.
The same amount of water as is removed at the second stage is added back at the first stage, because the concentrated water from the second stage needs to be returned to the first stage for further filtration

It shouldn’t be about how large the design needs to be for stage 1 inlet water, right? Oh, it depends on the recovery rate specified in your system design
