Issues with the connection between pipe flanges and valves

Dear experts, could you please help me figure this out? When plastic (PVC) flanges with diameters of DN250–DN500 are connected to gate valves or butterfly valves of the same size, might the issue of poor sealing at the interface arise due to the difference between the diameter of the plastic pipe and that of the steel pipe?
If the design standards for the flanges are the same, such as both being ASME B16.5, then there shouldn’t be any problems, right?
The connection between PVC pipes and valves is usually made using flanges. The quality of the seal in a flange connection depends mainly on the sealing surface of the flange, and it has little to do with the diameter of the plastic pipe or the steel pipe. If the valve is not lined, it features a typical metal-to-non-metal flange connection, with both sealing surfaces being full-flat FF. In any case, the most important thing is to ensure that the standards for pipe flanges and valve end flanges are consistent; thereafter, select appropriate gaskets and apply a moderate tightening force during installation to guarantee good sealing performance. If it’s not a flange connection, how are plastic pipes and valves bonded? ) Well then, it’s related to the pipe diameter; it needs to be aligned as much as possible.
