Sea friends, I have been researching the processes for removing sulfur trioxide from flue gas recently, and there are a few issues I’m not sure about. Those who know the answers could please offer some guidance. Sodium carbonate solution is sprayed between the SCR unit and the air preheater in order to prevent blockages in the air preheater. 1. Should sodium carbonate be used in bag form or in tank form? How to dissolve it? What is the dissolution concentration? 2. Does the concentration of sodium carbonate injected into the flue gas affect the removal efficiency? Should it be injected using a grid or some other method? 3. What is the sulfur dioxide conversion rate of domestic catalysts? 4. What are the advantages and disadvantages of spraying an excessive amount of sodium carbonate solution?
1. If using sodium carbonate, should it be in bags or cans? How to dissolve it? What is the dissolution concentration? Answer: Purchases in China are generally in bagged form. Water dissolution is used, requiring steam heating at around 40°. Solubility is related to temperature; it can reach 30% at 40°, while it is only 10% at 20°. 2. Does the concentration of sodium carbonate injected into the flue gas affect the removal efficiency? Should it be injected using a grid or some other method? Answer: While removing sulfur trioxide, it also reacts with sulfur dioxide, so the amount sprayed is quite large. Using a two-fluid atomization nozzle is the best approach. 3. What is the sulfur dioxide conversion rate of domestic catalysts? Answer: Generally, below 1%. 4. What are the advantages and disadvantages of spraying an excessive amount of sodium carbonate solution? Answer: Sodium carbonate is a salt; spraying an excess amount has no adverse effects, it’s just not cost-effective.
