Do the plug rings and plug plates on the flange need to be used together? Do you have to buy a plug board just because you’ve bought a plug ring?
There are three types: eight-character blind flanges, plug rings, and plug plates. When a plug plate and a plug ring are combined, they form an eight-character blind flange. These are generally used for sizes that are easy to handle manually; if the size is too large and difficult to operate, then the plug plate and plug ring are used separately, allowing for independent selection
It can be disassembled, unless it’s a combined type.

Generally, they are used in combination: first, a plug ring is used to secure the position so that it can be replaced with a plug plate. However, for piping systems with a small diameter and good flexibility, plug rings may not be necessary.
