Either end of the two-way ball valve can be installed as the upstream end. A handle-driven ball valve can be installed at any position on the pipeline. However, ball valves equipped with gearboxes or pneumatic drivers should be installed vertically, that is, on horizontal pipes, with the driving mechanism located above the pipe. Ensure the proper operation of the driving mechanism. 2. If it is a flange connection, gaskets must be installed between the flanges at both ends of the ball valve and the pipeline flanges, in accordance with the pipeline design requirements. The bolts on the flange must be tightened symmetrically, one by one, and evenly. But do not use too much force to prevent thread breakage. 3. If the ball valve uses a pneumatic driving method, a pneumatic pipeline must be connected (when a pneumatic actuator is used). After installation, be sure to carefully check the airtightness. To ensure the tightness of the pneumatic device, the following two points must be met. 4. Operate the drive to open and close the ball valve several times; it should move smoothly without any hesitation, indicating that it is functioning properly. 5. Conduct a seal performance inspection on the flange joint between the pipeline and the ball valve in accordance with the pipeline design requirements. II. Maintenance of cast steel ball valves: 1. It is necessary to ensure that the pressure in the pipelines upstream and downstream of the ball valve has been released before proceeding with disassembly and maintenance tasks. 2. Care must be taken during disassembly and reassembly to prevent damage to the parts and sealing surfaces, especially the non-metallic parts; special tools must be used when removing the O-ring seals. 3. If it is a flange connection, the bolts on the flange must be tightened symmetrically, step by step, and evenly during reassembly. Do not use too little force, as this will result in a loose connection; nor use too much force, to prevent the threads from coming apart. 4. The cleaning agent must be compatible with the rubber components, plastic components, metal components in the ball valve, as well as the working medium (such as gas). When the working medium is gas, gasoline can be used to clean metal parts. Non-metallic parts can be cleaned with pure water or alcohol. 5. The individual parts that have been separated can be cleaned by immersion. Metal parts that still contain unbroken non-metallic components can be scrubbed using a clean, fine silk cloth soaked in cleaning solution (to prevent fibers from falling off and sticking to the parts). During cleaning, all grease, dirt, residue, dust, and other substances adhering to the wall surfaces must be removed. 6. After cleaning, non-metallic parts should be removed from the cleaning solution immediately and not left immersed for an extended period of time. 7. After cleaning, wait until the cleaner on the surface to be cleaned has evaporated (it can be wiped with a silk cloth that hasn’t been dipped in the cleaner) before proceeding with assembly; however, it should not be left unattended for too long, as this may cause rusting or contamination by dust. It must be ensured to be dry and free of contaminants before being reequipped.
