You don’t farm, but you have food and drink； You don’t weave fabric, but your clothes are splendid ； You don’t build cars, but you use them for transportation ； You don’t build buildings, yet your home is safe and secure; you’re not a deity, but many people respect you ； You may not have talent, but you can still participate in society ； You’re not particularly good-looking, but your partner loves you ； Your abilities are average, but your children admire you. Why is this the case? What do you rely on to exchange with them? On what do you rely to obtain the things you need for life? What do you rely on to earn the respect of society? ——That is the unit. If you are grass, the workplace is your land. If you are a bird, the unit is your sky. If you are a fish, your unit is your ocean. If you are a wolf, the battlefield is the field where you ride your horse at full speed. The family can’t do without you, but you can’t do without your workplace. Without a unit, you are nothing. An organization serves as a bridge for exchange between you and society, as well as with other people. The unit is the stage where you show your existence. The workplace is the backbone of your wonderful family. The units are your arena, training station, beauty salon, and university! The workplace is a tool that helps you increase your value; it is a place where you can establish yourself; it is a powerful weapon for you and your partner to use in confrontations; it is also the means through which you can express your opinions within the family and society. At the workplace, one must learn to cherish things. First, cherish one’s job. Work is duty; duty is responsibility; responsibility is value. Thank those who have left you to handle things on your own, thank those who have placed burdens on you, and thank those who have provided you with a platform. Because that is an opportunity, that is trust, that is a platform, that is a voice. Second, cherish relationships. One must cherish all kinds of relationships at work; it’s better to endure discomfort oneself rather than striving for superiority. True ability lies in one’s capacity to manage relationships related to their work. It’s not a work-related relationship; it’s just about eating, drinking, and having fun together – that doesn’t constitute an employer-employee relationship. Third, cherish what you already have. What you already have at your workplace must be cherished. Maybe over time, you will get bored. But that’s just a problem with your mind. One must learn to adjust oneself in a timely manner, so as to maintain a fresh sense and attitude in the face of monotonous work. What you already have, once lost, you will realize its value. Maybe that power is small, but you know what? That is a governing power obtained at the cost of the lives and blood of countless martyrs, and today you hold a share of it. If you don’t cherish it, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life. Even if power is small, there will be those who respect it and those who envy it. There are three things that are most frowned upon in the workplace. One is to push the work onto others. Work is your responsibility, your right, your obligation, and it is also the foundation upon which you stand in your workplace. Passing off your own work to someone else isn’t smart—it’s foolish, unless you lack the ability to handle it yourself. Shirking work is a form of avoidance, it is irresponsible and also a sign of incompetence; it will cause others to look down on you deep in their hearts. The second is to deceive others. Deceiving others is true stupidity, it is irresponsible toward oneself, and it is a despicable act. Especially with those who trust you, rely on you, and depend on you, you must never play clever tricks; you will only end up suffering the consequences. Working together for a long time, your sincerity will touch your colleagues, but on the contrary, it will disgust your supervisors and colleagues. You may not know that those one rank above you are able to assess your abilities and character with such accuracy, depth, and consistency. Third is the inability to concentrate. Lack of focus is a major taboo in working at an office. It’s not a brief visit, it’s not staying in a hotel, it’s not tourism. The workplace is very likely to be one’s lifelong base, a proof of one’s existence throughout life. One needs to calm down and work slowly. Don’t become arrogant if you get the chance to improve. Don’t feel distressed if you don’t have a chance or miss one. I believe the ultimate winners are those who take their time. No matter the size of an organization, there is only one top leader. Those who are able to recommend you in front of their superiors and speak well of you are the precious people in your life. At work, one should be diligent and dedicated, rather than being stubborn, misbehaving, or arrogant. The essence of an organization is never based on age, but rather on position; anyone who relies on their age to make decisions is truly a fool. No one will truly respect you because of your age. That respect for age is just a superficial formality. Elderly people in the workplace have their advantages, and young people have theirs as well. Under no circumstances should one despise the other; that would be self-destruction. Do as much as you can at work; someone will always remember your kindness. At the workplace, under no circumstances should you set a bad example or violate the rules. That would be undermining the person in charge, it would be undermining those who are directly under one’s own leadership, it would be harming oneself, and it would create problems with that team. Personal matters must be kept within private spaces. Otherwise, at critical moments, no one will recognize you. At work, try to stay away from those who encourage you not to work or who stir up conflicts; they are like those who push you to use drugs, and gradually you change. Never tell big lies at work; no one is afraid of your lies – everyone will only look down on you. Protect one’s workplace, protect one’s job, protect one’s career. If you are there just for fun, please do not be at the workplace. If you are indeed the weed of the organization, then that organization is your land. The organization can function without anyone, but you can’t do without it; you need to strive to prove that you are important to the organization.
