Zhuge Liang’s job search story

It is said that in the 12th year of the Jian’an era, Zhuge Liang, who saw himself as comparable to Guan Zhong and Yue Yi, left Longzhong and went to Fan City to offer his services to Liu Bei. Liu Bei paid no attention to this young man in his twenties; after having his meal, he went outside and started playing with a top made from a yak’s tail. Seeing this, Zhuge Liang shook his head and said, Is this really the general’s great ambitions? Liu Bei did not look at Zhuge Liang and sighed, saying it was just to distract himself from his worries! So, Zhuge Liang returned to Longzhong. Afterward, Liu Bei grew more and more convinced that there was something hidden behind the words of this young man. After doing some investigating and learning more about him, he decided to set aside his status as an imperial uncle and pay him a visit, which led to the story of the three visits to Thatched Cottage.

It is to illustrate that even the most talented people can sometimes remain unrecognized; after all, there are many talented individuals, but not always those who can recognize their talent. Let’s chat to forget our worries! :)
